A few words from Dr. Don

What is special about True Dental?

From our look, our approach to treatment, our level of attention and care, our vibe, our team, to our music … we are different and that makes us special .. not our word of choice tho (as he laughs). Our team knows that it is more than just your smile. Your smile is your brand, your business card, your reflection, your health, your smile is you. Your smile radiates confidence, you need to feel good about it and that starts at an early age. If you really want to know what’s ‘special’ about us I would have to say it is our ability to engage and treat children at a young age in a positive way that gets them excited and looking forward to come to the dentist. My team and parents of our clients often call me ‘the child whisperer’ and over the years I realized that my gift in this industry is the energy and connection I’m able to make with the kids… Kids LOVE Dr. Don and they love coming here, it’s really a positive experience for everyone not just to the child but to the parents, my team and myself- you just feel so good about it!

What are the specialties?

We are a general dental office, we provide general dental services from preventative care oral examinations, and cleanings, fillings, crown and bridge, to smile and cosmetic makeovers.
It’s really nice to offer our clients a range of services and being able to have it all under one umbrella – Pediatrics (with in office sedation options as well as hospital privileges), Orthodontics (Fastbraces), Implant Restorative, Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery. Having in office sedation is an added bonus to our anxious clients of all ages and is something I am very pleased to offer at True as it helps everyone really.

When did the Kelowna office open and why?

We opened True January 2013 – We made the decision to open our second location so our clients have more options and better access to us and the services we provide. The Peachland office has grown to be one of the largest family practices in the Okanagan Valley and that’s something my wife Kim and I are extremely proud of. Our clients range from all over the interior, Northern BC, and even rural Alberta so opening True was a no brainer. We pride ourselves in being a patient-centered dental practice. You can be assured that all options pertaining to your dental health will be presented to you in a low-pressure and relaxed atmosphere.

Anything else you would like to say?

True is open convenient hours to accommodate everyone’s busy schedule Monday- Thursday from 8am- 8pm, Friday 8am-3pm with select Saturday’s are available. We have FOUR Dentists to serve you and your dental needs and we are really looking forward to September as we are expanding our clinic to better accommodate new and existing clients and new families.
We exceeded our growth expectations within a 2 year period and that was a big WOW factor for us. I definitely didn’t anticipate that we’d be this popular this quick in our new location and it’s something we are all very excited about! Growth and change is something my team and I handle and do very well. We are always striving to be better than we were the day before.

Dr. Don is a general dentist with an exceptional privilege; he is the only non-pediatric specialist in the BC Interior that has been chosen to treat children in the hospital. Since 1993 Dr. Don has been treating children in hospital under general anaesthesia with great success, “it’s definitely an added bonus to offer this level of service and this treatment alternative to Mom and Dad when their child has all for corners of their mouth to treat. The procedure is seamless, the kids come in in their PJ’s, we play on the iPad, they have a nap, and wake up with all their dental treatment completed, feeling better, more comfortable, more confident, and able to eat … that right there is what it’s all about.” Children are our passion and that is why we’re different than any other dental office … Happy and healthy kids that are able to smile from the inside out.”
